Print Packeta (Zásilkovna) labels on a thermal printer (100×150)

Packeta (Zásilkovna in Czechia) creates its labels as PDF files, in A6 or in smaller formats. With the right format in the client section or your e-shop plugin, and 100×150 mm labels set up in the printer driver, a Zebra, TSC or Honeywell thermal label printer prints one sharp label per parcel, with no A4 sheets to cut.

Before you start: Packeta label formats

Packeta offers the same label in several layouts. Its API documentation lists these formats:

The smaller formats are for Packeta's own labels only, such as labels for parcels to Packeta pickup points (výdejní místa) and Z-BOXes. Labels for parcels that Packeta hands over to an external carrier are direct carrier labels, and these can be printed in A6 only. That makes A6 on A6 the format to choose for a thermal printer: one label per page, every time.

Choose the single A6 label in the client section

If you create parcels in the Packeta client section, you choose the label format when you print.

1. Select the parcels and start printing their labels.
2. In the list of label formats, choose the A6 option ending in 1pc/page, not the A6 option ending in 4pcs/page, which prints on A4. Packeta's Czech plugin documentation calls single-label formats "1ks/stránka" (1 pc/page).
3. Open the PDF and print it as described in the last step.

Set the label format in your e-shop plugin

Packeta publishes official plugins for WooCommerce, Shoptet (the "Zásilkovna+" add-on), PrestaShop, OpenCart, Adobe Commerce (Magento) and VirtueMart. They create parcels and print labels from your e-shop admin.

WooCommerce

1. Open Packeta › Settings in WordPress.
2. Set Packeta Label Format ("Formát štítku Zásilkovny") to 1/4 A4, direct print, 1pc/page. Packeta notes that the single-label formats are meant for label printers.
3. Set Carrier Label Format ("Formát štítku dopravce") to the same option. Both settings start on 1/4 A4, print on A4, 4pcs/page, which prints four labels on an A4 page.
4. Print a single label with the sheet-of-paper icon in the order list, or several at once with the bulk actions Print labels and Print carrier labels.

Shopify and other platforms

Packeta's list of e-shop add-ons doesn't include its own Shopify app. Shopify stores connect through third-party apps from the Shopify App Store, so ask the app's developer which label format it creates. Set up the printer for 100×150 mm labels

1. Load direct thermal 100×150 mm labels with the printable side up, and calibrate the printer so it detects the gaps between labels.
2. In the driver's printing preferences, set the label size to 100 mm wide and 150 mm high: on Zebra in the ZDesigner driver under Page Setup, on TSC as a new Stock under Page Setup, on Honeywell in the InterDriver printing preferences.
3. On thermal transfer models, set the print method to direct thermal and leave the ribbon out.

Print the PDF and check the label

1. Open the label PDF and choose Print.
2. Select your thermal printer. The paper size should show 100×150 mm.
3. Choose fit to page (the name varies by program). The A6 page is 105 mm wide, so at actual size about 2.5 mm would be cut off on each side. Fit scales it slightly to the label. Use actual size (100 %) only for a PDF that is exactly 100×150 mm.
4. Choose portrait orientation, or let the program pick it.
5. Print one label and scan the barcode before printing a batch.

Stick the label flat on the parcel. Packeta's labelling rules say nothing may cover the barcode, not even clear tape.
