The Zebra RS4000 is a compact, corded 1D laser ring scanner made for Zebra's WT6000 and WT6300 wearable computers. Worn on the index finger and triggered with the thumb, it leaves both hands free to pick, lift and sort goods, while Zebra's patented Adaptive Scanning reads barcodes from near contact up to 4.5 m. This version, RS4000-HPCSWR, is the short-cable kit: the cable is permanently attached and plugs straight into a wrist-mounted WT6000 or WT6300, which powers the scanner and receives the data. Please note that the RS4000 is not a stand-alone USB scanner – the wearable computer is required and is sold separately.
📦 What's in the box – RS4000-HPCSWR
- ✅ Zebra RS4000 ring scanner – 1D laser, thumb trigger, swivels for left- or right-hand use
- ✅ Short interface cable – permanently attached, with connector for the WT6000 / WT6300 wearable computer (for wrist-mounted use)
- ✅ Finger strap – fitted on the scanner, adjustable hook-and-loop fastening
- ❌ Wearable computer (Zebra WT6000 / WT6300) – NOT included
- ❌ Wrist mount for the wearable computer – NOT included
⚠️ Please note: the RS4000 is not a USB scanner. Its cable plugs only into a Zebra WT6000 or WT6300 wearable computer, which powers the scanner and receives the scanned data – it cannot be connected directly to a PC, POS system, tablet or any other mobile computer. As this is the short-cable version, the terminal is worn on the wrist – add a WT6000 wrist mount (SG-NGWT-WRMTL-02) to your order.
💡 Scanners shared between shifts? Add a spare finger strap SG-RS419-FGSTP-02R so every worker has their own strap – better hygiene and a quick, tool-free swap.
Key Features
- Truly hands-free scanning – the ring scanner sits on the index finger, so workers keep both hands and their eyes on the items they are handling instead of reaching for a handheld scanner.
- Wide working range – patented Adaptive Scanning captures barcodes from near contact up to 4.5 m (100 mil, reflective); a standard 13 mil UPC/EAN code reads up to 60 cm.
- Two scanning modes – press the trigger once to scan a single barcode, or keep it pressed to scan continuously.
- Reads difficult barcodes – advanced scanning algorithms capture scratched, dirty, damaged and poorly printed 1D barcodes at the first attempt; GS1 DataBar (RSS) is supported.
- Easy aiming, clear feedback – a bright scan line makes aiming easy in almost any lighting, and the oversized scan LED turns green on every successful read.
- Liquid polymer scan element – Zebra's patented scan element has no friction and no wear, for maximum uptime and a low total cost of ownership.
- Built for the warehouse – diecast zinc engine chassis, single-board construction and engine isolation protect against drops, cable wear beads guard the most stressed points, IP54 sealing and an operating range of −30 °C to 60 °C.
- Left or right hand – the trigger assembly swivels 180° around the scanner, so the trigger always sits next to the thumb.
- Personal finger straps – the finger strap slides out and in without tools, so every worker can have their own strap for better hygiene.
- Full-shift power – no battery to charge: the RS4000 is powered by the wearable computer and draws very little current (92 mA typical), leaving plenty of capacity for a full shift.
Ideal Applications
- Warehouse order picking, put-away and replenishment with WT6000/WT6300 wearable computers
- Distribution centres and parcel hubs – sorting, cross-docking and truck loading
- Goods receiving and shipping – verify every carton without putting it down
- Retail backrooms and stores – shelf replenishment, stock counts and online-order picking
- Manufacturing and kitting – line-side material handling with both hands free
