Newland FM3051 Stationary Scanner (NLS-FM3051-28)

The Newland FM3051 Grouper belongs to Newland's FM30 Grouper II series of compact fixed-mount 2D scanners for building into self-service kiosks, ticket machines, access gates and checkout counters. Built to read from LCD screens, it captures all major 1D and 2D barcodes at high speed – from paper and labels as well as from smartphone displays (mobile tickets, loyalty cards, payment QR codes) – and its IR-assisted sense mode detects a presented code under virtually any ambient light, day or night. The FM3051 is the standard version: its 38.3 × 60.4 mm scan window is recessed in a framed top (78.7 × 67.7 × 62.5 mm, 184 g) – the larger scan window of the two Grouper II models. The detachable interface cable makes it a dual-interface scanner (USB or RS-232); it is ready to use out of the box (plug and play) and configurable with programming barcodes or the EasySet tool. Newland covers it with a 5-year (60-month) warranty. This version, NLS-FM3051-28, is the RS-232 kit: it is supplied with an RS-232 cable with power jack and a 5 V power adapter with interchangeable EU/UK/US plugs – everything needed for a serial connection.

Technical Specifications

Not sure which version to choose? All four versions are based on the same Grouper II scanner and differ in only two ways. Front design: the FM3051 has a standard front with the larger scan window recessed in its framed top, while the FM3056 has a flush glass front and a lower 53 mm housing for flush installation. Kit: the -20 versions include a USB cable (USB-powered), the -28 versions an RS-232 cable and a 5 V power adapter.
