Newland FR2780 Urchin Series Presentation Scanner (NLS-FR2780-B-20)

The Newland FR27 Urchin is a small, stylish corded presentation scanner designed for self-service scanning: customers simply hold a phone screen, ticket or product over the window and the scan happens automatically. Its remarkably wide field of view (84.8° diagonal) reads even large QR codes on big phone screens, and it captures all major 1D and 2D barcodes on paper, metal and plastic. It is backed by a 5-year (60-month) Newland warranty. This version, NLS-FR2780-B-20, comes in black and is supplied with a 1.5 m USB cable – ready to plug in and scan, no power supply needed.

• Fast scanning – 2.7 m/s motion tolerance, 360° roll and ±75° pitch and skew, so codes never need to be lined up; sense mode starts scanning automatically as soon as a code is presented.
• Clear visual feedback – soft white illumination and a green good-read LED projected onto the white background, plus a beeper – giving self-service customers confidence that the scan was successful.
• Small and stylish – only 66.3 × 76.3 × 38 mm and 120 g; the smooth, simple finish blends in with any countertop from boutique to café, in black or white.
• Flexible mounting options – the cable can be routed for portrait or landscape mounting, and threaded fixing points allow vertical installation in kiosks, access gates and turnstiles.
• Plug and play – powered via USB (no power supply), USB HID keyboard by default, plus USB CDC (virtual COM), HID-POS and IBM SurePOS; configured with the EasySet tool; IP42, 1.5 m drop rating and a 5-year warranty.
