The Zebra DS4608 is a premium corded 2D handheld barcode scanner that reads virtually every 1D and 2D barcode – on paper labels, on mobile phone screens and even when damaged or poorly printed – with simple point-and-shoot scanning. Zebra's PRZM intelligent imaging and patented rear-engine design deliver fast, first-time reads, and the scanner is backed by a 5-year (60-month) Zebra warranty. This version, DS4608-HD00007ZCWW, has the High Density (HD) engine (optimised for very small, dense barcodes) and integrated Checkpoint EAS deactivation, comes in Twilight Black and is supplied as the scanner only – an interface cable is not included.

• Handheld or hands-free – place the scanner in the Gooseneck Intellistand and it switches to hands-free presentation mode automatically, with no settings to change.
• Plug and play – auto-host-detect cables identify USB, RS232 or IBM 46XX automatically; uses the same Zebra cables as the DS2208 and LS2208. Supports more than 90 international keyboards.

Technical Specifications

Not sure which version you need? The SR engine is the all-round choice for retail and general use; choose HD if you scan very small or densely printed codes. The DS4608 uses the same Zebra cables as the DS2208 and LS2208, so if you already have one at the checkout, the scanner-only version is the most economical choice; for a new workstation, pick a version with a USB cable included.
