Datalogic PowerScan 9600 RFID Barcode Scanner (PBT9600-DKDCRK10EU)

The Datalogic PowerScan PBT9600 RFID is a rugged cordless hybrid reader from Datalogic's PowerScan 9600 RFID series: it reads and writes UHF RFID tags (EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C, up to 1 m) and scans 1D, 2D, stacked and postal barcodes with a 2D imager – one device for whichever identification technology your goods carry. Its Bluetooth® 5.0 radio (Class 1, up to 100 m in open air) links it to a PowerScan 9600 Bluetooth base station or directly to a Bluetooth-enabled PC, tablet or mobile computer, and it charges wirelessly (inductively) in the base, so there are no charging contacts to wear out. The removable 3350 mAh battery lasts for up to 80,000 barcode reads or up to 40,000 RFID reads per charge, the scanner withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m, is sealed to IP65 and IP67 and comes with a 3-year Datalogic warranty. This version, PBT9600-DKDCRK10EU, has Document Capture (DC) optics – a wide-angle colour sensor for barcode reading and colour capture of documents and images.

It is the EU version – its RFID module operates in the European UHF band (865–868 MHz). It has a 1.8″ OLED display and a 16-key keypad, so operators can see messages from the host and enter quantities or data right on the scanner. It is supplied as a complete USB kit with the BC9630-BT base station/charger, a 2 m USB cable and a power supply (EU power cord) – ready to connect and scan.

• IP65 and IP67 sealing – dust-tight and protected against water jets and temporary immersion, so the scanner can be cleaned and used in wet, dusty and outdoor areas.
• Clear good-read feedback – Datalogic 3GL™ (Three Green Lights), the Green Spot projected onto the code, a loud adjustable beeper and vibration confirm every read, even in noisy environments.

How to read the part numbers: SR stands for Standard Range and DC for Document Capture (colour sensor) optics; DK models have a display with a 16-key keypad; RF marks the UHF RFID module and EU the European RFID band 865–868 MHz (US versions use 902–928 MHz). Versions with K10 are USB kits with the BC9630-BT base station, CAB-552 USB cable, power supply and EU power cord – note that Datalogic writes the part number of the display/keypad kit as PBT9600-DKDCRK10EU, without the F. Versions without K10 are the scanner with battery only.
